This week, Gary Dell'Abate, producer for The Howard Stern Show, announced that he is writing his autobiography, They Call Me Baba Booey. The book is set for release on November 2rd (available now to pre-order from Amazon if you can't wait). It seems like the crew from the show are one-by-one setting themselves up in case Howard should decide to hang it up at the end of the year when his Sirius contract expires. I sure hope he continues, but at this point I think the odds are only 50-50.
I am looking forward to reading Gary's stories. Despite all the abuse he takes on the show, I have always thought pretty well of him. He has a good knowledge of music (as evidenced by "Stump The Booey") and somewhat similar tastes as I. Back before he started working for Howard, he interned at WLIR on Long Island, the station that I grew up with and which helped to shape my musical tastes. In addition, he roots for the same sports teams as me: NY Jets, NY Mets, and NY Islanders (on his ManCaves episode, there was a framed DiPietro jersey hanging on the wall).
